AHOY!
WE EXPECT TO BE BACK IN GALICIA IN 2026!
This retreat is in beautiful Galicia. An area on the west coast of Spain where happiness still seems very common. People are friendly, take their time and are caring. There are many beaches, rugged coasts and the vegetation is very diverse.
In the summer months it is usually around 25 degrees, making it pleasant to stay and not as hot as on the east coast. The seawater is also slightly fresher in Galicia, but it makes you less drowsy when you get out.
We are happy to offer you (depending on the number of days) a combination of mindfulness, yoga, qi gong, tension releasing exercises (TRE), breath work and creative expression (dance, chanting mantra, intuitive painting or writing). No experience is necessary, the magic is in letting go. Then the rest will follow naturally. Experience shows that it is precisely the combination of our SOUL sessions with the natural elements that makes the effect on your self so intense. In addition to tranquility, guests regularly receive the most beautiful insights or spiritual experiences, which further enhances the experience on the 'Marie'. The sessions are partly on board in a beautiful sheltered bay and partly in beautiful nature. In between there is plenty of time to chill and do what you need (swim, (learn to) sail, snorkel, walk, read, write or just do nothing in the hammock). Do you play an instrument and like to take it with you? No problem. Know that there is a guitar and ukulele on board that you could use. The language of instruction is usually Dutch and sometimes English (depending on the composition of the group). In the case of a group registration, the language of instruction could also be French, or a combination of Spanish and English.
The captain is also your cook. He will prepare fresh vegetarian meals or fish for you. One time he is free. Then you go ashore for lunch (4 days) or dinner (7 days) at your own expense. With a 7 day trip we take you out for dinner in the old town of Vigo on the last day.
Halfway through the 7 day trip we have a 'break day'. Our ways then part for a day. We take the boat to port Vigo and after breakfast we take you to the train to Santiago de Compostela, the fascinating old city where hundreds of pilgrims gather every day at the end point of their Camino, the cathedral. How nice is it to be a pilgrim for a while by walking the last kilometers (together). If you like to continue a bit more in nature you can also take the ferry to Cangas (market, coastal walk and beach). Feel free to make your own choice.
When you get back on board, your towels will been washed, everything dusted and swept, stocked up for groceries and the water refilled :)

We would love to meet you in Vigo. We have found a nice mooring for our ship ‘Marie’ there with an unobstructed view of the bay. In this harbour you can immediately smell the fresh air and feel the spaciousness. If you bend your head towards the crystal clear water, you will see the most beautiful fish and if you are lucky, occasionally a school of dolphins.
Simone: 'this is where it all started... What a wonderful experience this was! Being able to come home to yourself in a safe environment. Personally, during this trip I not only came home to myself but I especially found the strength to choose for myself. This trip was literally: life changing! And I have made some beautiful friends, and also a new chef friend:)'

How do you get to Vigo and the ‘Marie’ from the Netherlands?
The best way to get to Porto in Portugal is with Transavia or Ryanair from Amsterdam, Maastricht or Eindhoven. Sometimes KLM also has a nice offer. There are also regular interesting offers from Brussels to Porto. Amsterdam (via Madrid) to Vigo can also be worth checking out. We are happy to advise you if you need help.
Are you flying to Porto? After arrival, take the bus from Porto airport. There are several buses a day. Travel time approximately 2 hours and a return ticket is approximately €14.00 - €50.00 (early booking is recommended). For departure times and exact prices, see one of the following sites:
https://www.autna.com/en/
https://global.flixbus.com
https://www.alsa.es/#
If you want to go to Porto city center from the airport first, then a metro is handy. For a few euros you are in the middle of this nice city, for example in the Sao Bento district. Tips for ho(s)tels, restaurants, sights and activities are sent as standard in the attachments. From the center you can also find buses to Vígo on the above sites. Then the duration is about 2.5 hours.
Please note: it is one hour earlier in Portugal than in Spain.
Would you like to join us, but don't want to fly? You can also take the bus and train. Feel free to call or email for more information.
Where is the 'Marie'?
In Vigo the 'Marie' has a berth in the Marina Davila Sport:
S/N MUELLE DE REPARACIONES DE, 36208 Vigo, Pontevedra
If you wish, we can inform you about flights and arrange transport from the bus station in Vigo to Marina Davila Sport when you arrive together.
